If you’re planning a wedding in the San Francisco Bay Area, you’ve probably realized your wedding timeline can look a little different than weddings in other destinations. Between rush hour traffic across the Bay Bridge, iconic portrait locations filling up with tourists, and wanting to actually enjoy your cocktail hour, this one decision can shape the entire flow of your day.

The truth is, there isn’t a right answer. I’ve photographed wedding first looks that felt incredibly intimate. I’ve also photographed ceremonies where the aisle reveal made everyone, including me, emotional. My favorite feeling is watching any anxiousness instantly wash away at the sight of your other half. 

A first look wedding also creates more flexibility in your timeline. On the other hand, there is something incredibly special about saving that moment for the aisle. You only get that exact feeling once, and for some couples, nothing compares to it.
