Despite living here my whole life, Grace and Dylan’s wedding was my first time visiting the Outdoor Art Club in Mill Valley. What a beautiful surprise this venue was. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the surrounding streets, it feels like a little escape in the middle of Marin County. There’s something so special about having a forest-like setting right in town. This was the kind of setting that made the entire wedding feel intimate, without sacrificing an ounce of beauty.
The day landed right in that sweet spot between summer and fall. It was some of the most pleasant weather you could ask for. Green was everywhere, from the surrounding foliage to the thoughtful wedding details, giving the day a naturally lush feel. One of my favorite design elements was the florals. Classic white blooms with just a hint of pink added the prettiest dimension to the color palette, complementing the gardens without competing with the natural surroundings.
A New Perspective: The Outdoor Art Club From Above
This was also a first for me in another way. Grace and Dylan’s wedding marked my very first time bringing my drone along for a wedding day! I’ve always loved finding new ways to tell the story of a wedding. So, getting to photograph the Outdoor Art Club from above was such a fun addition. Seeing the reception space from a completely different perspective gave me a few new favorite images in their gallery. It’s safe to say the drone is coming along for more weddings.
There’s a reason I love photographing weddings throughout the Bay Area and Northern California. Every venue has its own personality, and the Outdoor Art Club is such a lovely example of that. Grace and Dylan’s day was a reminder that sometimes the most beautiful wedding settings are the ones just steps away from the rest of the city.
