Is there anything more romantic than taking your couple photos on Lover’s Lane? As a Bay Area wedding photographer, I’m always on the lookout for the next best location for your photos. Here’s my personal review of Lover’s Lane at the Presidio, CA. And why I think you should get your next couples session here!
Location of Lover’s Lane
Presidio in San Francisco, CA, is a little over an hour’s drive south of Marin County. Presidio is an old military-base-turned-park at the northern tip of San Francisco, and it’s well known for beautiful recreational areas. So where is Lover’s Lane?
Lover’s Lane is the oldest footpath inside Presidio. It’s only a half-mile walk, which ends at the bottom corner of Presidio onto West Pacific Avenue. Apparently its history dates back to the 1700s, when soldiers would use it to reach their lovers in the Mission Dolores. How cute!
Your Photographs at Lover’s Lane
Of course, your engagement or wedding photos here are going to be framed by the towering trees along the path, and for the Wood Line that switchbacks through the path. Oh, and don’t miss the bridge or the meadow along the way! Depending on when you go, you may find some blooming wildflowers or wild blackberries. Just another reason to have your Bay Area engagement photo session here!
As a Bay Area wedding photographer, I can appreciate the natural colors that flow through this area, as well as the simple background that will put all the focus where it matters: on you and your own “lover.”
