Okay, so the Cypress Tree Tunnel is at Point Reyes National Seashore, which is about a little over an hour north of San Francisco. Point Reyes is full of incredible sights and scenery, including a lighthouse, a shipwreck, and a ton of great hikes. 

The Cypress Tree Tunnel, in particular, surrounds a road toward the historic Marine Radio Station, off Sir Francis Drake Road. You can always stop at the Visitors Center for directions if you need help getting there. 

About the Cypress Tree Tunnel

The Cypress Tree tunnel was planted way back in the 1930s. Now, it looks amazing in every season, since the branches overlap overhead. I love that this place feels like a doorway; it’s like a symbolic in-between two destinations, so I think it makes a great choice for engagements or bridal photos.

As a Bay Area wedding photographer, there are a couple of things that I really love about this location. First, the shade from the trees creates great lighting here! Sometimes the light even dapples through the leaves, which is so fun for photographs. 

More importantly, the area feels secluded, which really allows my couples to relax. So, it’s great when a couple can feel like themselves in a more private location, rather than clam up in public. We want to preserve your genuine moments together.
