Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you based?

The San Francisco Bay Area is where I call home. Situated between San Francisco and Wine Country, I've lived here my entire life and can't image going anywhere else. Minutes to the beach, a few miles to Yosemite, Carmel, Napa and Sonoma, there truly is no place like home. While this is home, I am happy to travel to wherever your wedding takes us.

Do you only shoot weddings?

Weddings are my bread and butter, my happy place, what one might refer to as a lifeline. But, no, I photograph other things as well! As long as there is love there, so am I - elopements, couples' and engagement sessions, newborns and Fresh 48s, families, and celebratory events, if there is joy and laughter, you can bet I will be there with my cameras and a smile on my face.

Why film?

In a digital age where everything has become predictable, sterile, and just so perfect film gives us a reminder that we are real - that we are messy, that we can be unpredictable, something that brings us back to a more analog time. We are imperfect and so is film. It has character, it has depth, and it leaves us with a feeling of nostalgia and warmth. I've been shooting film since a child and I can't see that changing anytime soon. Film is not only my preferred medium for wedding days, it is also what I use to capture my own family both at home and on vacation.

What is your pricing like? Are there hidden fees?

No hidden fees - the basic package is 8 hours at $5,500 and includes film + digital photography, a second shooter, and an included engagement session but add ons are available. Additional hours, bridal sessions, welcome parties+rehearsal dinners, drone coverage, content creation, post-wedding brunch, prints and albums are all available to add on to your package at an additional fee.

How long have you been a photographer?

For as long as I can remember! I come from a family of photography enthusiasts, both professional and hobbyist. I spent my childhood shooting film wherever we went - vacations, parties, family gatherings and learned to develop it on my own in high school. My dad gifted me with my first digital camera nearly 20 years ago and the rest, as they say, was history. My passion for photography only grew from there and I started my first business in 2017 when Maya G. Photography was born. My brand grew and evolved and Maya Rose Weddings went live in 2020.

How do we book?

First things first: get in touch. Once you've contact me, I'll reach out (quickly) to set up a consultation call. We'll hash out the details, learn a little bit more about each other and officially lock it in with a contract and deposit invoice. I am so excited to hear from you!
