Cavallo Point Lodge Wedding | Sarah and Marc

Sarah + Marc’s wedding at Cavallo Point Lodge was the perfect blend of California charm and timeless romance. They flew in from the East Coast and were met with a proper Bay Area greeting: Karl the Fog rolling in low. Their ceremony took place beneath eucalyptus trees on the Mission Blue Lawn, and the reception felt like a garden party indoors! Candlelit tables, lush florals by Sassy diva designs and those blue-and-white patterned linens that Sarah had been dreaming about. Every detail echoed their love story and the joy of sharing it with their favorite people. Take a sneak peek at their day with me!

Getting Ready at Cavallo Point Lodge

The morning jitters quickly turned into pure excitement during those getting ready moments. At Cavallo Point Lodge, Sarah’s suite was glowing with soft light, throwback pop hits, and all the anticipation of what was to come. One of the best parts about a venue that doubles as a luxury lodge is how relaxing and intentional the spaces feel, the perfect setting for a bridal party to soak it all in. Sarah thought of every little detail, right down to the pearl hangers for each dress.

Her mom helped her into the gown, while the groom and his fourteen groomsmen sipped cocktails and took photos together in another part of the lodge. Fourteen groomsmen, can you believe it? Now I have the perfect inspiration for anyone planning a large wedding party.

First Look Under Eucalyptus Trees

Sarah and Marc’s first look was pure joy. We walked to the Mission Blue Lawn under towering eucalyptus trees. The Golden Gate Bridge and Marin Headlands peeked through the fog. The soft haze added a dreamy, cinematic glow. It felt magical, like the world had paused just for them. Even with their loved ones watching from the suite up the hill, the moment felt completely private and intimate.

Marc was smitten. He nearly cried the moment he saw Sarah. You could feel just how deep his love is. Those moments are the ones that stick with you forever.

First looks are amazing for a reason. They give you private time to soak in the day and calm pre-ceremony nerves. They also make portraits easier and faster for couples who want more organic moments documented instead of more traditionally posed moments.

Ceremony On the Mission Blue Lawn

On the Mission Blue Lawn, Sarah and Marc exchanged their vows in a setting that felt truly sacred. A harpist played softly, providing a delicate soundtrack to their outdoor wedding ceremony. The design was minimalistic yet breathtaking. Elegant floral arrangements placed at the back of the aisle perfectly complemented the natural beauty around them. Guests were bundled up under the trees, fog rolling around them, yet their excitement and joy were impossible to miss.

Having a close friend as the officiant made the ceremony feel deeply personal. This choice allowed for beautiful crowd interaction, full of laughter and heartfelt moments. Every eye was on Sarah and Marc as they shared their vows, creating timeless wedding memories that perfectly captured the intimacy and love of this private estate wedding.

Cocktail Hour Fireside at Cavallo Point Lodge

After the ceremony, we moved fireside to The Callippe Ballroom. Housed in Fort Baker’s historic gymnasium, the space features soaring beautiful vaulted ceilings and classic exposed beams that give it timeless elegance. The ballroom can accommodate 140 guests for a full plated service with a dance floor to follow.

Sarah and Marc’s wedding guests sipped cocktails and nibbled on hors d’oeuvres. The harpist played softly as everyone toasted with martinis and signed the photo guest book. It was so fun to see every corner of the reception space in use, while Sarah and Marc took family photos. Guests relaxed throughout the fire-lit space before the evening reception kicked off.

Romantic Reception Details

The indoor reception felt like the perfect garden party brought indoors. Sarah’s vision came to life with lush floral arrangements by Sassy Diva Designs, soft candlelight dancing across blue-and-white linens, and tables styled with elegance and intentional warmth. The Callippe Ballroom and its surrounding foyer spaces at Cavallo Point Lodge offered incredible versatility for the flow of the evening.

White linens paired with striking black chairs created a sophisticated contrast. The glow of the candles combined with the fog drifting past the windows set a moody yet intimate atmosphere. It helped in making the space feel cozy despite the guest count. Cheerful floral accents, from the arrangements to the napkins and head table linen, added just the right touch of joy, tying the whole look together beautifully.

Sunset Photos with Karl the Fog

As evening settled in, Karl the Fog rolled back across the Golden Gate and Marin Headlands, creating the dreamiest backdrop. We snuck away for a few sunset portraits, and by then Sarah and Marc were completely in their element. Marc kept all of us laughing with his goofy side, Sarah leaned right into the fun, and together they soaked up a quiet little moment before kicking off the dance party. I was so relieved when the fog rolled back just enough to where we could catch a glimpse in photos.

Dance Floor

As night fell and the lights dimmed, the celebration shifted into pure party mode. The dance floor pulsed with favorite songs, laughter, and guests dancing with joyful abandon. Glow sticks lit up the night, and the bride’s chic outfit change into a short white dress added the perfect touch of flair. None of it would have been possible without the incredible energy curated by Taj Panganiban, the Bay Area DJ who truly brought the party to life.
