Ashley and Marc’s intimate elopement at the Marin County Civic Center followed by a cozy coastal celebration and second Stinson Beach Elopement ceremony. These two poured so much heart into their wedding day, making it completely true to them. From the moment I met Marc and Ashley, I knew their wedding day was going to be something special. They have that rare kind of connection that feels easy.

1. An Elopement Courthouse Ceremony with Heart
Ashley and Marc chose to keep their ceremony deeply personal by having just their parents in attendance at the Marin County Civic Center. The setting couldn’t have been more fitting. With its soft, natural light and sweeping arches, the Frank Lloyd Wright–designed courthouse has this quiet kind of grandeur. There’s a reason us Bay Area wedding photographers love this place.

Their ceremony was short but full of heart. It was so special to both of them that they got to declare their love for each other in such an intimate way. Ashley wore two dresses that day. While both were stunning, I loved the unexpected simplicity of her courthouse look. A modern two-piece set with a delicately detailed top that felt stylish and timeless all at once. It was the kind of outfit that just felt like her!
Watching these two exchange vows in such a meaningful place, surrounded by their parents was a reminder of why I love intimate weddings so much.

2. A Love Rooted in California
Marc grew up in Mill Valley, and even though the couple now lives in British Columbia, they knew they wanted to get married close to home. Family ties run deep in this part of Northern California, and it made perfect sense to plan a celebration that honored that history. Choosing to elope in Marin County gave them the best of both worlds: a relaxed ceremony near family, followed by a beachside celebration that felt completely their own.
Their people came from everywhere! Canada, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco are just a few. What I loved is that you could tell every guest felt honored to be part of it all.

3. Stinson Beach Elopement Ceremony Magic
After their intimate courthouse ceremony at the Marin County Civic Center, A + M made their way to the cozy Stinson Beach vacation home they had rented for the weekend. Nestled in the hills just above the coastline, the house had that perfect blend of relaxed California charm.
As golden light filtered through the trees, guests gathered in a scenic spot near the house where a beautiful wooden, triangle arch had been set up for their second ceremony. It wasn’t on the beach, but it felt just as magical. Surrounded by greenery with views of the coastal hills.

One of their close friends officiated, adding heartfelt humor and warmth to the ceremony. It was personal, emotional, and so full of love. It was a moment intentionally created to share their vows with the people who mean the most to them. And with friends and family who had traveled from all over.
Dinner was catered by local favorite Sol Food, and they ended the night with a beautiful cake from Flour Craft Bakery. It was exactly the kind of reception that fit them: laid back, fun, and centered around delicious food. If you ask me, it doesn’t get more California wedding magic than that.
